WARWICK CASTLE HOTEL TALKING PORTRAITS

As part of the creation of a brand new hotel in the grounds of Warwick Castle, Figment were tasked with bringing 6 characters from Warwick’s vivid history to life in the form of talking portraits. Hung all around the reception area of the hotel, the paintings speak to guests as they walk through, entertain them as they check in, and bring a sense of magic while they enjoy their stay. A central character is Richard Neville, the 16th Earl of Warwick better-known as The Kingmaker, who encourages guests to interact with the 14ft animatronic horse situated in the centre of the room.

Figment were involved in all the pre-production for this project. After writing the scripts and co-ordinating all the casting, we filmed each character in authentic costume at the green screen studios at The Tannery. As well as creating separate morning and night sequences, the main show throughout the day combines all 6 portraits together to not only bring entertainment for all guests, but teach them about the history of Warwick Castle and the grounds. Displayed on 4K portrait screens with directional speakers throughout the space, it’s an engaging way for guests to immerse themselves in the history of this medieval-inspired hotel.
